About Travel Voyara  ·  ★ Veteran-Owned Small Business

We've been there.
Literally.

Every resort we recommend, every destination we plan — we've done the research ourselves. That's the difference between a search engine and someone who actually travels.

★  Veteran-Owned Small Business

I'm Tanner Skelton, and I started Travel Voyara because the travel planning process is broken. You open a browser, spend hours on TripAdvisor and Reddit, end up more confused than when you started, and book something you're not completely sure about. Then you spend the first day of your vacation wondering if you made the right call.

My background is in making complex plans work under pressure. I spent six years as a U.S. Army Captain, leading soldiers through operations that required precise planning, real-time decision-making, and zero margin for error — including a deployment to Honduras. After the Army, I joined Amazon as an Operations Manager, overseeing large-scale logistics and managing teams through high-stakes, fast-moving environments. I'm currently completing my MBA at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School, .

"The same discipline that makes a good operations plan makes a great travel itinerary. Details matter. Logistics matter. Getting it right the first time matters."

I've personally stayed at Sandals Ochi Beach Resort in Jamaica, Princess Hotels & Resorts in Jamaica, Barceló Maya Grand in Mexico , and sailed Royal Caribbean through the Bahamas. I'm not recommending resorts from a brochure — I've stood on those beaches and slept in those rooms. When I tell you a room category is worth the upgrade, it's because I know firsthand.

Travel Voyara is built for people who want a great trip without spending a weekend planning it. You pay a flat fee, tell me what you're looking for, and I handle the research, curation, and planning. That's what Travel Voyara does. If you'd also like help booking your trip, contact me at tanner.skelton@fora.travel. In that capacity I operate as an independent Fora Travel advisor — entirely separate from Travel Voyara — and can handle your reservation through Fora's supplier network.

How We Think

Four things we won't
compromise on

Every proposal is built around these principles. If a resort doesn't hold up against all four, we don't recommend it.

01
Honest recommendations only

We don't recommend resorts because they pay better commissions. We recommend them because they're right for you.

02
Specificity over generality

Telling you "Jamaica is great" doesn't help you. Telling you which specific room category is worth the upgrade does.

03
Your budget is real

We work within the budget you give us. If a $2,500 resort fits your trip better than a $5,000 one, that's what we'll tell you.

04
We work until it's right

Every plan includes a revision round. If the first proposal doesn't land exactly right, we adjust until you're confident.

First-Hand Experience

Destinations we know
from the inside

These aren't properties we've read about. They're places we've stayed, beaches we've been on, and rooms we've slept in. That firsthand knowledge goes into every proposal.

The Honest Case

Why you actually need this

"You can book it yourself. Most people do. But here's what actually happens."

You spend 6–8 hours on Google, TripAdvisor, and Reddit. You second-guess yourself the whole time. You get there and find out the beach is shared with three other resorts, or the room category you picked faces the parking lot, or the airport transfer takes two hours and nobody told you.

For a flat fee I tell you exactly which resort fits your trip, which room category is worth the upgrade, which airport to fly into, and what to watch out for. You book it in 20 minutes and you stop wondering if you made the right call.

You're not paying for a booking. You're paying for certainty.

"I can just use Expedia or Google."
Expedia shows you everything. I show you the right thing for you specifically. There's a difference between a search engine and someone who's actually been there.
"Travel agents are outdated."
The ones who just book flights are. I do the research, curation, and planning — the work you'd otherwise spend a weekend on yourself. Need the actual booking handled too? I can do that separately through my Fora Travel advisor relationship.
"I'll just look it up on Reddit."
Reddit is great for general opinions. It won't tell you which specific room category is worth upgrading, or that one resort's beach is far better than the one two miles away.
"It's too expensive."
You're spending $3,000–$5,000 on the trip. The planning fee is less than one night at the resort. If it saves you from booking the wrong place, it pays for itself before you even pack.
"I like planning my own trips."
Then you don't need me. I'm for people who like taking great trips but don't enjoy the research.
